Soap is simple, yet complicated

True soap is simple, in theory. It only really requires three components. Water. Fat. Lye. Add these three together and a beautiful alchemy turns these three items into true soap. Within that simplicity lies an unending universe of variations for which one can spend a lifetime and never make the same soap twice. With this in mind, soap can be made with bad quality ingredients. Cheap fats. Dirty water. Unpure Lye. There are many soaps out there that go down this path.

We stay true to a very basic principle of good cooking. Start with high quality, fresh ingredients and refined technique and end with a high quality, thoughtful end result. We source the finest Shea Butter, Coconut Oil, Cocoa Butter, Raw Honey, Oils and Essential Oil Fragrances that's available on the market. It costs us more but we think that there are enough people out there who value quality as much as we do. After all, what is the point of going through this labor of love? What you put on your skin is absorbed into the body. We think that we all deserve high quality soap free of chemicals, parabens, sodium lauryl sulfates, phthalates, palm oil and canola oil. We will gladly trade a short shelf life of fresh soap in exchange for opting out of chemicals in our products. Is soap really meant to last for years, anyway?

We wonder just how many of us have experienced the luxury of true, simple soap made from fine ingredients? Once you've tried it, we doubt you'll ever go back.
